Almighty God~ we grieve the Chesapeake City Attorney’s decision to ban the words “Jesus” or “Christ” or “Savior” as illegal speech during prayers before city council meetings~ caving in to pressure from the atheistic Freedom from Religion Foundation. Lord~ we pray you rise up like you did in Lodi~ and rally Christians to petition Chesapeake Mayor Alan Krasnoff and the council~ to reverse his ban~ from Titus 1:6. Some claim to know God~ but by their actions~ they deny Him. Turn all hearts back to You~ in Jesus name~ Amen.

Obama Decriminalizes Marijuana
Let us pray. Almighty God~ this week President Barack Obama decriminalized the use of marijuana in some states~ pressuring federal investigators to “not waste time” pursuing drug lords and violent Mexican drug cartels in the United States~ when marijuana sales are the largest source of money for these criminals. Obama’s “excuse” that some marijuana is used for medical purposes directly violates federal law~ everywhere~ but now won’t be prosecuted. Father from Proverbs 4:6 we ask that you would give wisdom to those in authority~ to prosecute crimes justly~ in Jesus name~ Amen.

Maine will Vote November 3rd on Homosexual Marriage
Let us pray. Almighty God~ we pray for the upcoming vote on November 3rd in the state of Maine regarding traditional marriage~ where we can take back our government from the devil~ and define marriage as Jesus did~ between one man and one woman. Polls show voters evenly split on the issue~ but we pray God bring victory to Maine like He did in California~ by raising up an army of people to fast and pray for this vote~ just as in Jonah 3:5 when the Nivevites repented to God and fasted for mercy~ in Jesus name~ Amen.

British Town Ends 115 Year Christian Prayer Tradition
Let us pray. Almighty God~ we grieve about the Winscombe and Sandford Parish Council in Somerset United Kingdom~ who ended a 115-year tradition of beginning meetings with a Christian prayer~ after receiving one complaint that prayers were “inappropriate and unacceptable in a multi-ethnic society.” The Council voted 7-3 to ban prayer~ with 3 abstentions~ disregarding their own heritage and people. God bless for Rev. Mike Slade who stood up for prayer saying Christians were “discriminated against~” while Councilor Roy Jones called the prayers “embarrassing”. From Luke 11:23~ whoever is not for You~ is against You~ in Jesus name~ Amen.

Almighty God~ we pray for defeat of New York Governor~ David Paterson~ who announced his agenda to persuade the state Senate to vote to legalize homosexual marriage~ which could soon make New York the seventh state to legalize sin that will always remain illegal in God’s law. Lord~ move the hearts of those Senators~ to defend traditional marriage the way You defined it in Genesis 2:22~ taking the rib of one man and creating one woman~ then uniting them in Your first Divine and Holy matrimony~ in Jesus name~ Amen.

Almighty God~ thank You for the courage of the Lodi City Council who finalized their pro-Jesus prayer policy this week~ after we won the debate last month~ to allow pastors to pray “in Jesus name” at city council meetings. The Council reversed their anti-Jesus ban~ and now protects liberty~ even though Lodi resident Karen Buchanan~ a self proclaimed “former Jesus Freak” and now atheist~ has threatened to sue. Lord~ we pray You save Karen’s soul~ from 2 Peter 3:9~ You desire none to perish and all to come to repentance~ in Jesus name~ Amen.
