Tulsa Oklahoma Removes "Christmas" from Parade

Larry Fox~ the Lead Organizer of the Tulsa Christmas Parade has just banned Christmas from the annual Parade name.  Tulsa World Newspaper reports "to better evidence inclusiveness~ the parade’s board~ with the concurrence of its primary sponsor~ approved the deletion of the word ‘Christmas’ from the official title of the event~" Fox said. 

For 70 years the parade was called the "Tulsa Christmas Parade of Lights~" until now it is the "Holiday Parade of Lights."

Hero Senator James Inhofe (R-OK)~ took a stand by refusing to march in the parade~ as he did for decades past~ until they restore the word "Christmas" to the title of the parade. 

"Last year~ the forces of political correctness removed the word ‘Christmas’ and replaced it with ‘Holiday’ instead~" Senator Inhofe said. "I am deeply saddened and disappointed by this change."

Inhofe was Tulsa’s mayor from 1978 to 1984~ and participated in the parade annually~ riding a horse as his children and grandchildren watched.

"I did not do so last year because I’m not going to ride in a Christmas parade that doesn’t recognize Christmas~" he said. "I am hopeful that the good people of Tulsa and the city’s leadership will demand a correction to this shameful attempt to take Christ~ the true reason for our celebration~ out of the parade’s title. Until the parade is again named the Christmas Parade of Lights~ I will not participate."

Dear Sir~ and Dear Organizers:

We the undersigned respectfully petition you to reverse the ban on "Christmas" in the title of the Tulsa Holiday Parade~ and restore its name to what it was called for 70 years~ the "Tulsa Christmas Parade of Lights." 

We stand with Senator James Inhofe~ who refused to march in your "holiday" parade until you restore the proper word "Christmas" to the title. 

We will also boycott~ and advise our friends to boycott~ any business who sponsors your parade until they issue public statements asking you to restore Christmas to the name of the parade.  Our boycott includes any client of Mimosa Tree Capital Partners~ McNellie’s Group~ and Public House restaurants.

Christmas is a federal holiday~ recognized by the government~ and all citizens of Oklahoma should be free to assemble and honor Jesus Christ in a parade if they wish.  Freedom of assembly~ speech~ and religion are guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution and Oklahoma Constitution.

We therefore respectfully request you stop disrespecting our faith~ stop being a scrooge~ and restore Jesus Christ to His equal and rightful place of honor among the citizens of Tulsa~ as "King of Kings and Lord of Lords."
