Hawaii Senate Bans Public Prayer~ Fears Lawsuit

The State Senate of Hawaii banned public prayers this week~ making it the first of all 50 states to resort to such drastic action~ ending the practice of pre-meeting prayer before State Legislature meetings~ and caving in without a fight to an empty threat of an ACLU lawsuit if they had allowed even one pastor to say the "forbidden" word "Jesus" on the floor of the legislature.

A PRAYER TO ALMIGHTY GOD~

A PETITION TO THE STATE SENATE OF HAWAII:

Dear Sir~ and Dear Senators:

We the undersigned~ respectfully petition you to defend religious freedom by allowing visiting pastors of all diverse faiths and denominations to pray aloud publicly according to the dictates of their own conscience~ at or before Hawaii Senate legislature meetings~ even if they dare to pray aloud publicly "in Jesus name" or invoke their own specific deity. 

You have been fooled.  Case law specifically allows prayers "in Jesus name" so long as people of other faiths are allowed to take turns.  Please don’t cave-in to atheist intimidation by the enemies of religious liberty~ including the ACLU who has repeatedly issued empty threats and failed in their attempts to sue to ban Jesus Christ from public prayer. 

Hire the Alliance Defense Fund and please conform your decision to First Amendment Free Exercise Clause which allows Jesus prayers among other rotating diverse prayers~ as already decided in the 7th Circuit (Hinrichs v. Bosma) and 11th Circuit (Pelphrey v. Cobb County) and by the Supreme Court of the United States in two decisions: Marsh v. Chambers and especially Lee v. Weisman. 

Jesus is not an illegal word~ the Bible is not a banned book~ and prayer speech is not a crime.  We petition you to please reverse the ban~ and defend public prayer!
