Pastor Ron Baity (my personal friend, at whose church I preached last year) was fired from his duties as honorary House chaplain when he prayed "in Jesus name" and spoke the now illegal word "Jesus" on the House floor. After we faxed nearly 250,000 of your petition comments to the entire legislature last summer, the House appointed a bi-partisan committee of 8 key members to review the prayer rules. That committee should soon release their new ruling and issue new rules that either allow or permanently ban Jesus prayers. Let’s take action! Almighty God, bless the North Carolina Supreme Court Judges who voided the adoption by a lesbian mother of a child whom she and her former partner, the biological mother, were abusing together by denying the child a father. We pray this case would establish precedent to stop all homosexual adoptions in the state, and protect the emotional development of every child who needs both a mother and father. Almighty God, we pray from Psalm 29:11 that You give strength and peace to Christians in Egypt, who now stand accused of riots because they protest yet another church bombing by Muslims, which killed 21 and injured 90. The government now decides whether to ease the rules that forbid building or repairing church buildings anywhere in the nation. We pray these restrictions are dropped by a presidential permit, so the two percent of Christians living in Egypt can worship the True God just as freely as the Muslims worship their false god. Almighty God, we pray for Vander Plaats who is raising money to oust the 4 remaining Iowa Supreme Court Judges who forced homosexual “marriage” against the citizens’ will in 2009, since only 3 of the 7 judges were voted out last month. God please help remove evil judges from their positions and inspire people to donate toward their removal. We confess from Proverbs 29:2 when the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan. 6. Friday 7 Jan 11 One-Minute Prayer: IHOP Drops Lawsuit Against Church Let Us Pray. Almighty God, thank you for the recent decision of the International House of Pancakes to drop their lawsuit against the Kansas City-based International House of Prayer because they use the same initials, I.H.O.P. Patrick Lenow from the International House of Pancakes now says the pancake house wants to resolve the matter amicably, and will no longer sue the church. God please bless both the Church and the restaurant for setting an example of civility from Hebrews 12:14, make every effort to live in peace with all men. In Jesus Name, Amen.
