Divorce Rate Much Lower Among Church-goers than Non-Church-Goers

Let us pray. Almighty God, we thank you that, despite myths about Christians divorcing at the same rate as non-Christians, a new study confirms “people who identify as Christians but rarely attend church, that 60 percent of these have been divorced,” but only 38% of those that attend church regularly have been divorced. We thank you for empowering your Church to “make disciples,” and that the local church is once again becoming known as a place to cultivate strong marriages that “no man can put asunder” (Matt. 19:6), in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Voters in Alaska Reject “Transgender Bathroom” Bill

Let us pray. Almighty God, we thank you that the overwhelming majority of voters in Anchorage, Alaska recently rejected Proposition 5, which would have forced businesses to open women’s bathrooms to cross-dressing men or be bankrupted by frivolous lawsuits from lesbians, homosexuals, bisexuals, and transsexuals. Although the liberal coalition supporting Proposition 5 outspent their opposition 4 to 1, Christians went to the polls unified with one mind to stand for moral purity. Your Word tells us that “to the pure, you show yourself pure” (2 Sam. 22:27), so we thank you for this victory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Almighty God, we are grieved that North Carolina’s Kannapolis City Council has voted to cease open prayer before its public meetings due to opposition from the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation. You promised to us, “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 5:10). We pray that you would empower Christians holding public office to endure persecution from liberal, humanist groups that seek to silence any public expression of Christian beliefs, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Your Word says, “Wisdom shouts in the street, she lifts her voice in the square” (Prov. 1:20). We pray that you would give our Supreme Court justices the grace to heed Your voice of wisdom lest they fall prey to the deceptive voice of humanism, which censors the voices of those speaking out for the unborn, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

We pray that you would forgive the abortion advocates and abortion doctors and that you would reveal Yourself to them so that they will know that you hate “hands that shed innocent blood” (Prov. 6:17) and that you “came to give life and life more abundantly” (John 10:10), in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Almighty God, we are concerned that a group of radical Muslims called, “Salafists,” have launched a campaign to place 25 million copies of the Koran in Germany, one in every home, as part of their broader goal to establish Sharia Law across the entire world. We pray that you would open the blinded spiritual eyes of the Salafists and show them that Jesus is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life” and that “no man comes to the Father except by Him.” (John 14:6). Jesus reveal Yourself to the entire nation of Islam, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
