I sat down in the TV studio this week for a breaking news interview with Pastor Brady Boyd of New Life Church, who leads the largest congregation in Colorado Springs. New Life Church was closest to the Black Forest Fire, and led the response to help the victims.
Our ministry is sending 100% of your donations here this week to those fire victims. 512 homes were destroyed, and thousands of people were displaced, many without insurance.
Please take a few minutes and watch Pastor Brady’s TV interview on my show here:
Our ministry has already sent $864 to the fire victims, but I know we can do more. For this week only (until 27 July 2013) we will send 100% of ALL donations to our non-profit directly to the victims of the Black Forest Fire, through Pastor Brady’s New Life Church fire victims fund. Can you dig deep with me, to bless these families who lost everything?
100% of your donations to Pray In Jesus Name Ministries between now and 27July 2013 will be forwarded to help the victims of the Black Forest Fire. Please donate here.
Smoke in my house. 512 Homes destroyed in Black Forest Fire. Let’s help.
I stepped out my front door last month, and the sky to the North was filled with black smoke. The smell of smoke permeated my house. My immediate family is safe, but my neighbors in Black Forest very near my home in Colorado Springs are hurting.
512 houses were destroyed in 5 days, in the worst fire in Colorado history. Two people were killed by the flames, trying to escape
their garage. My own in-law relatives, my church friends, several U.S. Air Force Academy classmates, and 41,000 people all had to flee their homes under mandatory evacuation orders. The fire covers 15,000 acres, or 25 square miles of suburban, treed land. The fire is now contained, as firefighters from across America came to help.
Here is a spectacular series of photos from the fire, published by NBC. Breathtaking.
Last year 350 homes were destroyed on the West side of our city in the Waldo Canyon fires. The devil attacks Colorado Springs, but this town is full of resilient Christians, and our community love cannot be burned.
We can help. New Life Church, which I’ve attended for years, the largest
church in town, not only sheltered many of the refugees (before the smoke shifted and the church itself was forced to evacuate). Pastor Brady Boyd just sent me an email describing a new “designated offering fund” to directly help the fire victims. Read his email below.
Let’s do something for these families:
Pastor Brady Boyd wrote: “Dear New Life Family and Friends,
“The most destructive fire in Colorado history has caused great loss to many in the Colorado Springs region this week. Over 41,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. Hundreds of homes have been completely destroyed. Many others are awaiting news on the status of their homes.
“New Life Church served as an official Red Cross shelter until the direction of the smoke turned toward our property. As people
who were forced from their homes arrived on our campus, our volunteers and staff joined with the Red Cross volunteers to offer a meal, a place to sleep and the love of Christ.
“We have been in contact with hundreds of New Lifers who were directly affected by the fires–some have lost virtually everything. If you have experienced any personal loss this week, please let us know by responding to this email so one of our staff members can be in touch with you.
“If you’ve not been personally affected and would like to help those who have, we have set up a designated fund.…
“Please pray for all of the victims as well as the safety of our heroic First Responders–our fire fighters, law enforcement, and medical and military personnel.
“Psalm 34:18 says, ‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.’ We pray that over our city, our county and our state.
Love, Brady

Friends, since New Life is the largest church here, they will help the most victims directly. Let’s chip in, and forward our best offering to them.
God Bless you, in Jesus’ name,
